Yes, you can rent a shrink wrap machine. SIGMA Equipment and Frain Industries rent packaging machinery, including shrink equipment, but neither publishes a rate. Loeb Equipment publishes lease prices on used machines. Its one unsold shrink listing was $1,077.29 a month for an automatic L-bar sealer and tunnel. Sellers of new machines offer financing, and MyBinding showed estimated payments of $400 to $3,720 a month over 12 months.
The rental and lease offers we found were for industrial machines. Small machines cost little to buy. An I-bar kit lists from $309 and a tabletop L-bar sealer from $859, less than one month of that lease. All terms on this page were seen on the sellers’ websites on October 10, 2026.

Rent, lease, finance, or buy
| Option | How it works | Published example | Who offers it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rent | Pay monthly and return the machine when the job ends | No rate published. Quote only. | SIGMA Equipment, Frain Industries |
| Lease | Fixed monthly payment on a specific machine | $1,077.29 a month for a used automatic L-bar sealer and tunnel. No term stated. | Loeb Equipment |
| Finance | Buy the machine and pay over time | $11,925 combo estimated at $1,103 a month over 12 months | MyBinding (Credit Key). SIGMA and PAC Machinery by quote. |
| Buy used | Pay once. Condition varies. | Asking prices of $2,500 to $11,000 in our used price sample | Used machinery dealers |
| Buy new | Pay once | $309 to $63,980 in our new price ranges | Sellers and makers |
Sellers use “rent,” “lease,” and “finance” loosely. Ask who owns the machine at the end, how long you are committed, and what it costs to stop early.
Where to rent a shrink wrap machine
SIGMA Equipment
SIGMA Equipment sells used packaging machinery and runs a rental program. It has rental categories for L-bar sealers and heat shrink tunnels. The lists load by script, so we could not confirm which units were available. SIGMA publishes these terms:
- Rate. Not published. You submit a quote request.
- Length. “After the minimum term, continue month to month with no long-term commitment.” The page does not give the minimum term.
- Up front. SIGMA invoices the first month’s rent, a skidding fee, and a deposit while the machine is in transit.
- Shipping. SIGMA says “once rental terms are agreed and payment is received, we can ship equipment within 24 hours.”
- Buying it later. “Rent-to-Purchase credits part of your rental toward purchase.” The page does not say how much.
- Return. You keep the custom skid to send the machine back.
Frain Industries
Frain Industries rents packaging and processing machinery from a stock of more than 2,000 machines. Its FAQ lists shrink wrappers among its equipment types. Frain publishes these terms:
- Rate and length. Not published. Frain says you are “not locked into a process or even a product because of a lease or large capital purchase.”
- Setup. Machines are set to your specifications and tested at Frain’s facility running your product. Renting includes “a full eight hours of training from our experts.”
- Lead time. Frain says “many packaging machines can be product-tested and prepared in as little as one week.”
- Warranty. “Equipment comes with a 6-month parts warranty.”
What a rental quote should state
Neither company publishes a price, so compare written quotes. Ask each one for:
- The monthly rate and the minimum term.
- The deposit, and the conditions for getting it back.
- Freight both ways, skidding or crating fees, and who insures the machine.
- Who pays for wear parts such as seal wire, PTFE tape, and pads.
- Who fixes a breakdown, and how fast.
- How much of the rent counts toward a purchase.
- A trial on your product and film before the machine ships. See test before you accept.
Lease prices on used machines
Loeb Equipment shows a monthly lease price on its used machine listings. Each listing also has a “Rent for only” line. On every shrink listing we checked, that line read “N/A.”
| Machine | Year | Condition | Lease price | Status October 10, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Arpac L18 automatic L-bar sealer with Shanklin T7H tunnel | 2006 | As is | $1,077.29 a month | Listed |
| Arpac ARW26 shrink wrapper with tunnel | 2009 | Running | $865.84 a month | Sold |
| Shanklin Omni SRLS shrink wrapper with tunnel | 2005 | As is | $665.33 a month | Sold |
| Conflex Fusion side seal wrapper with tunnel | 2014 | As is | $603.35 a month | Sold |
| Shanklin HS1H automatic shrink wrapper with tunnel | 2002 | As is | $421.07 a month | Sold |
| Shrink Tech Systems STS17SS side seal wrapper with tunnel | 2011 | As is | $348.16 a month | Sold |
The sold listings are past examples, not current offers. None of the listings states the lease term, a down payment, or what you pay to own the machine at the end. Get those in writing before you compare a lease with a purchase.
Most of these machines are listed “as is.” A leased machine in that condition still needs the checks in what to check before you buy.
Financing a new machine
MyBinding shows an estimated monthly payment on each product page. The financing is through Credit Key.
| Machine | List price | Estimated payment | 12 payments total | Added cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sealer Sales SS-48ST hooded chamber | $4,319.69 | $400 a month | $4,800 | $480 |
| Clamco 250C combo | $11,925 | $1,103 a month | $13,236 | $1,311 |
| Clamco 6C combo with motorized sealer | $25,365 | $2,346 a month | $28,152 | $2,787 |
| Clamco 6750EL automatic L-bar sealer | $40,215 | $3,720 a month | $44,640 | $4,425 |
Each page says “over 12 months.” The last two columns are our arithmetic from MyBinding’s estimates. In each case 12 payments come to about 11% more than the list price. Your own rate is set when you apply.
MyBinding’s financing page gives these terms:
- No interest for 30 days, then “Interest as low as 1% monthly thereafter.”
- Terms up to 12 months, with no prepayment penalties.
- An instant decision on a credit line up to $50,000.
- The business must be registered in the US, with at least $40,000 in annual revenue and a 600 FICO score.
Two other sources offer financing but publish no payment figures:
- SIGMA Equipment refers buyers to two lenders. It says Alliance Funding Group provides “equipment leases and loans from $10,000 to $10,000,000.” It says Ascentium Capital offers “equipment financing and leasing up to $2,000,000.”
- PAC Machinery, which sells Clamco sealers, has an equipment financing page. It lists “Preserve working capital and free up cash flow and bank credit lines” as a benefit.
SIGMA and PAC Machinery both say rental or lease payments can have tax benefits. Ask your accountant how that applies to you.
Break-even: an illustration
Break-even in months = purchase price ÷ monthly payment.
Past that month, renting or leasing has cost more than buying would have. These examples use prices published on this site. They are illustrations, not quotes.
| Compare the $1,077.29 lease with | Purchase price | Break-even |
|---|---|---|
| A used automatic L-bar sealer at the low asking price in our sample | $6,999 | 6.5 months |
| A used automatic L-bar sealer at the high asking price in our sample | $11,000 | 10.2 months |
| A new SMIPack FP6000E automatic L-bar sealer | $30,091 | 27.9 months |
The used prices are from the used machine guide. The new price is from the cost guide.
This math is simple on purpose. It leaves out:
- What the machine is worth later. An owned machine can be resold. A rented one cannot.
- What is included. The leased machine comes with a tunnel. The new FP6000E price does not.
- Condition. The lease is on a 2006 machine sold as is. The new machine has a warranty.
- Costs on both sides. Freight, installation, repairs, deposits, and interest all change the result. Build both columns with the installed-cost comparison.
To judge whether the machine pays for itself at all, use the payback calculation.
When to rent and when to buy
Rent or lease when:
- The job is short or seasonal. SIGMA names “seasonal fluctuations, testing a new product, or launching a line with limited upfront cost” as reasons to rent.
- You want to run a machine on your own line before you buy it.
- You need a machine sooner than a new one can be delivered.
- Cash is tight and the monthly payment fits the work it brings in.
Buy when:
- You will run the machine well past the break-even month.
- The machine is small. Our starter setups cost $75 to $1,445 complete.
- You want to choose the exact model, seal size, and options. A rental fleet has what it has.
Buy used when you can inspect the machine, test it on your product, and get parts for its serial number. See used shrink wrap machines.
If you only need a few hundred packages wrapped once, a contract packager may be cheaper than any machine. Ask for a per-package quote and compare it with your cost per finished package.
Common questions
Yes. SIGMA Equipment and Frain Industries both rent packaging machinery and both list shrink equipment. Neither publishes a rental rate, so you need a quote. Loeb Equipment publishes monthly lease prices on used shrink wrap machines, and some sellers of new machines offer financing.
We found no published rental rate on October 10, 2026. The one lease price on an unsold machine was $1,077.29 a month for a used Arpac L18 automatic L-bar sealer with a Shanklin tunnel at Loeb Equipment. The listing gives no lease term. For new machines, MyBinding showed estimated payments of $400 to $3,720 a month over 12 months.
Rent for a short job, a seasonal peak, or a trial of a machine you may buy. Buy when you will run the machine past the break-even point, which is the purchase price divided by the monthly payment. Small machines cost little to buy. An I-bar kit lists from $309 and a tabletop L-bar sealer from $859.
Yes. MyBinding offers pay-over-time terms of up to 12 months through Credit Key. SIGMA Equipment refers buyers to two lenders for equipment leases and loans. PAC Machinery, which sells Clamco sealers, also offers financing. Only MyBinding published payment figures.
We did not find a published rental offer for an I-bar kit or a tabletop L-bar sealer on October 10, 2026. The rental and lease offers we found were for industrial machines. Starter setups cost $75 to $1,445 to buy outright.
