The short answer
Eastey makes five lines of L-sealers, three lines of shrink tunnels, and two combo units. They fall under three series names.
- Performance Series: the entry line. Two semi-automatic L-sealers and four tunnels, in 16 and 20 in. sizes.
- Professional Series: the heavy line. Semi-automatic and automatic L-sealers with seal fronts up to 100 in., and tunnels up to 70 in. wide.
- Value Series: three automatic L-sealers (VSA), one tunnel (VST1710), and one small combo (VS1620).
This page compares them using Eastey’s own pages and manuals. We are not affiliated with Eastey and have not tested these machines. Specs were checked October 7, 2026. Eastey prints its spec tables as images, so confirm any figure on a written quote.
About Eastey
Eastey is “headquartered in Big Lake, Minnesota,” and “manufactures a complete line of case tapers, L-sealers, sleeve wrappers, shrink tunnels and bundling equipment.” It says it “has been in business for over 35 years and has an installed base of over 15,000 systems.”
Its parent is Engage Technologies, “the parent company of Squid Ink Manufacturing, Eastey, and American Film & Machinery.” AFM makes shrink sleeve and band equipment. See shrink tunnels for bottles.
How it sells. Eastey sells through dealers. Its service page gives 1-800-835-9344 to find the distributor in your area. Its online store sells parts.
Warranty. The Performance Series manual warrants the machine for “two (2) years from the date of shipment.” Bought-out parts are covered for one year, and the conveyor belt for 30 days. The warranty is “only to the original buyer,” so it does not pass to the buyer of a used machine. Manuals are on Eastey’s user guides page.

Eastey lists the Performance and Professional EM lines under “manual L-sealers.” Both have magnet hold-down and a takeaway conveyor, which most sellers call semi-automatic. See manual vs. semi-automatic vs. automatic.
Performance Series
The two Performance models differ only in front seal length.
| Model | Seal area | Machine size | Weight |
|---|---|---|---|
| EM1622TK | 16 in. side × 22 in. front | 27 W × 50 H × 63 L in. | 400 lb |
| EM1636TK | 16 in. side × 36 in. front | 27 W × 50 H × 91 L in. | 500 lb |
Eastey’s page lists a maximum film width of 19 in., an “all-welded main frame from 12-gauge steel,” an “automatic takeaway conveyor with stainless steel mesh belting,” and an adjustable pin perforator. The seal head is a “low maintenance hot knife” with mushroom, pancake, poly, or arrow inserts. The manual also covers hot wire versions, the EM1622T and EM1636T.
The page does not give a packages-per-minute figure or a maximum package height. Ask for both.
Professional Series
The Professional line is the same idea on a heavier frame, “all-welded” from “¼ in. cold rolled steel.” It covers 21 sizes.
| Side seal | Front seal options | Power |
|---|---|---|
| 20 in. | 16, 28, 40, 50, 70, 80, or 100 in. | 220 V, 10 to 25 A. EM2016TK and EM2028TK also 110 V 20 A. |
| 30 in. | 40, 50, 70, 80, or 100 in. | 220 V, 20 to 25 A |
| 40 in. | 40, 50, 70, 80, or 100 in. | 220 V, 20 to 25 A. Powered film unwind included. |
| 50 in. | 50, 70, 80, or 100 in. | 220 V, 20 to 25 A. Powered film unwind included. |
Machines weigh from 600 lb for the EM2016TK to 2,600 lb for the largest. Maximum film width is “up to 44 in.” A 480 V version is optional.
Listed options include a power film unwind, a film inverter, variable speed takeaway conveyors, stainless steel and left-hand models, and a lowered conveyor that allows “4 in. additional product height.”
The ESA Pneumatic version has the same sizes. It swaps the hand-closed head for “dual palm pneumatic seal head activation.” Its manual says all machines need 3.5 CFM of air at 60 to 80 psi.
Value Series automatics (VSA)
| VSA1721 | VSA1825 | VSA2530 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Seal area | 17 W × 21 L in. | 18 W × 25 L in. | 25 W × 30 L in. |
| Package height | 0.2 to 4.75 in. | 0.2 to 7 in. | 0.4 to 10.25 in. |
| Rated speed | About 20 to 25 cycles per minute | About 35 to 40 cycles per minute | About 15 cycles per minute |
| Max film width | 22 in. | 24 in. | 32 in. |
| Power | 220 V single-phase, 10 A | 220 V single-phase, 12 A | 220 V single-phase, 20 A |
| Air | 80 psi | 60 to 80 psi | 80 psi |
| Weight | 1,000 lb | 1,390 lb | 1,100 lb |
Eastey qualifies every speed with “depending on product size.” The VSA1825 also comes in stainless steel as the VSA1825-SS.
Two figures differ between Eastey’s web pages and its manuals:
- VSA1825 speed. The web page says about 35 to 40 cycles per minute. The manual says it will “seal between 30 – 35 products per minute.”
- VSA2530 film width. The web page says up to 32 in. The manual says up to 25 in.
Get the figure for your machine in writing.
Professional Series automatics (EA)
Eastey says the EA line is “designed specifically for large or heavy products that need to be fully enclosed.” It has nine sizes, with side seals of 30, 40, or 50 in. and front seals of 50, 70, or 100 in. Maximum film width is “up to 60 in.” Machines weigh 4,600 to 6,300 lb.
They include a power film unwind and a scrap winder. The manual notes the machine “has product indexing. There must be a gap in between packages.” Eastey gives no speed figure for this line.
Eastey shrink tunnels compared
| Line | Models | Chamber (W × H × L) | Conveyor | Power |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Value Series | VST1710, VST1710-SS | 18 × 10 × 59 in. | Live roller, 0 to 100 ft/min | 220 V three-phase, 15 kW heater |
| Performance Series | ET1608-30, ET1610-36, ET1610-48, ET2010-36 | 16 or 20 in. wide, 8 or 10 in. high, 30 to 48 in. long | Live roller or mesh belt, up to 67 ft/min | 220 V. 40 A single-phase or 25 A three-phase. |
| Professional Series | ET20, ET24, ET36, ET48, ET56, ET70 | 20 to 70 in. wide, 4 to 20 in. high, 52 in. long | Live roller up to 67 ft/min, mesh belt up to 100 ft/min | 220 V three-phase, 50 to 110 A |

Performance Series is the only one of these three lines offered on single-phase power. Eastey describes “four-directional air flow.” An optional “dead” roller conveyor is for polyethylene.
Professional Series adds width and options. A raised hood gives “additional 4 in. or 8 in. product height.” Some models are available in 480 V three-phase. Stainless steel is available on the ET20.
VST1710 is the tunnel Eastey pairs with the VSA1825. Its temperature range is “between room temperature and 365°F.” Eastey says it is “designed to shrink most polyolefin shrink films.” The web spec table lists 50 A. The manual lists 30 A. Have an electrician work from the nameplate.
Eastey also makes bundling tunnels for polyethylene film: the Performance ETB3012 and ETB3020, and six Professional ETB models from 24 to 80 in. wide. These follow its bundlers, the EB25A through EB80A and the ECB25A combo. See sleeve wrappers and bundlers.
For how to size any tunnel to a sealer, see shrink tunnels.
Eastey combo units
A combo puts the L-sealer and tunnel on one frame with one power connection.
| Value Series VS1620 | Professional EC2016TK and EC2028TK | |
|---|---|---|
| Seal size | 16 × 20 in. | 20 × 16 in. or 20 × 28 in. |
| Max film width | 18 in. | 23 in. |
| Tunnel chamber | 15 W × 8 H × 26 L in. | 16 W × 10 H × 36 L in. |
| Power | 220 V single-phase, 30 A | 220 V single-phase, 60 or 50 A |
| Weight | 650 lb | 1,050 and 1,100 lb |
Neither page gives a speed figure. Two details differ between the web pages and the manuals. The VS1620 manual gives the chamber as 16 in. wide and 7 in. high. The Professional combo manual lists 480 V as the standard power. Confirm the chamber size and voltage on the quote.
See separate machines or a combo unit for how to choose between the two layouts.

This table sorts Eastey’s lines by their published specs. It is not a recommendation for your product. For picks across brands, see best L-bar sealers and the L-bar sealer comparison.
Eastey prices
Eastey does not publish machine prices. It sells through dealers, and most dealers quote on request.
New. Two new prices were published on October 1, 2026. Update International listed a hot wire EM1622 at $7,800 and a hot wire EM2016 at $9,200. Both exclude freight and installation.
Used. These asking prices were listed on October 7, 2026.
| Machine | Asking price | Seller |
|---|---|---|
| EM28T L-bar sealer | $2,000 | Rapid Packaging |
| EP2028TK pneumatic sealer, year 2000 | $5,000 | Genemco |
| ET1608-30 shrink tunnel | $6,000 | Rapid Packaging |

| EM2028 semi-automatic sealer | $12,300 | Rapid Packaging |
| EC2028 combo unit | $15,000 | Rapid Packaging |
A used asking price can be higher than a new one. Eastey’s warranty covers only the original buyer. See used shrink wrap machines for what to inspect, and shrink wrap machine cost for prices across brands.
Check before you buy
- Hot knife or hot wire. Eastey’s Performance page describes a hot knife. Its manual also covers hot wire models, and the two new prices above are for hot wire versions. Name the seal system on the quote. See impulse vs. constant-heat seals.
- Film. The Performance page says the line seals “most polyolefin, polyethylene, and PVC” films, and the manual limits PVC to “hot knife systems only.” The VSA1825 manual says “Not compatible with PVC films — Use of PVC film with this machine will void warranty.”
- Air. The ESA, VSA, and EA lines need compressed air. The VSA1825 manual calls for a “clean dry air supply of 60 – 80 PSI at 3.5 CFM” and says contaminants in the air supply void the warranty.
- Power. Tunnels and combos draw far more than sealers. The VSA1825 manual says the power cord “should be installed by a licensed electrician.”
- Ventilation. The Performance manual warns that some films “may result in the release of hazardous fumes” and that “adequate ventilation should be provided at all times.”
- Perforation. Eastey’s manual says not to put product in the first few bags after loading film, because “they will not have any perforation holes in them.”
- Your own trial. The manual states that Eastey “makes no warranty that the sealing quality achieved in an application will be the same as that achieved on a test piece in our demo facility.” Put an acceptance test with your product and film in the purchase agreement.
Take the buyer checklist to the dealer.
Common questions
Eastey is headquartered in Big Lake, Minnesota, and lists its manufacturing location there. Its parent company is Engage Technologies, which also owns Squid Ink and American Film & Machinery (AFM).
Eastey lists the Performance Series EM1622TK and EM1636TK and the Professional Series EM2016TK and EM2028TK at 220 or 110 V. At 110 V they draw 20 A. Larger Professional models are 220 V.
Eastey does not publish machine prices. On October 1, 2026, Update International listed a new EM1622 at $7,800 and a new EM2016 at $9,200. Used Eastey sealers were listed from $2,000 to $12,300 on October 7, 2026.
No. The L-sealer makes a loose sealed bag. An Eastey shrink tunnel does the shrinking. The Value Series VS1620 and Professional Series EC combos put both on one frame.
Some can. Eastey says its Performance Series seals PVC with hot knife systems only. The VSA1825 automatic is different: its manual says using PVC film will void the warranty.
